This is not a hoax VIrus Happy 99

OK, everyone the Happy 99 virus has been passed to onelist and several

people have told me that they have gotten infected from

it. PLEASE DO NOT PANIC AS IT IS EASILY FIXED AND WILL NOT CRASH YOUR PC

 

Here's the URL for everyone to go to and following the instructions to the

letter

If you do not understand the instructions DO NOT EMAIL ANYONE UNTIL YOU

CHECK YOUR PC, the instructions are quite simple and can be printed out from

the website. If you have the virus PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not reply to any

further emails until you clean your PC. All it will do is infect anyone

that receives your email. If you do have the virus please email EVERYONE

that you emailed TODAY. You do not have

to email anyone that you emailed yesterday as it just arrived today.

The thing to remember about this one is that you can only get it if you

receive and email with an attachment called Happy99.exe.

If you get that attachment do not open it. Just delete it and you will be

OK.

So if you haven't ever received this attachment, then you can't be infected.

But like the message says below, it is a fairly harmless one as far as

viruses go, and easily gotten rid of.

Hi Andy,

 

I thought the same thing about not opening it, etc. etc. I didn't open it

and thought I was safe until several of my friends started emailing me that

I was infected with it and all my emails to them had it attached.

Don't know how it got past my Norton, but nothing is fail safe nowadays. I

didn't mean to scare anyone, but I did receive it from onelist, not green

vibrations though, but thought it safe to tell everyone. Hope that I don't

get unsubed here because I sent it. I did get unsubbed from the list that

sent me the virus though (LOL). They didn't believe me and flammed me big

time.
