Guest guest
Hi folks I had a good session leafleting during my lunch break today. In about 30 minutes, I distributed 124 leaflets from Vegan Outreach (primarily Why Vegans, but also Even If You Like Meat and Try Vegetarian). I had a brief conversation with one student who had received one earlier and as a result went veg. It really is an easy activity to do, and highly effective. For whatever reason, students are especially receptive at the beginning of a semester. Suzanne Haws, who is one of the top leafleters in CA for this program, shared some of her strategies at the Effective Advocacy workshop earlier this month. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
