Guest guest
Hi, I was suggested to share with the group the results of this small campaign. We did pull some money together and I delivered the meals last Friday evening from Manzanita to KPFA radiostation in Berkeley. They did as promised thanked Bay Area Vegetarians for help on the air several times during last Friday. Marie from KPFA and volunteers were very grateful for the deliciously smelling boxes full of food. We had decent amount of donations from this group members, so we almost have enough for a second run. The question is whether to do it this fund-drive period, or put it till the next. Maybe organize a group of people to volunteer to the station to work the phone, and maybe spread the message inside the station too. How about going in for and hour and maybe donating them some videos or books by vegan activist, hoping that it might trigger a discussion over the air.Or maybe someone would come with the food in the evening some weekend? There are many possibilities to those who are interested. Please contribute to the FORUM on www.BayAreaVeg.org Thanks to all participants, Sergei. Guest guest
another option would be to pull the funds together and instead of using it for food, making a matching pledge. that will also get our name on the air a lot and we will be helping KPFA in the process (more than by feeding volunteers, i think). and since we are thinking of this in advance, more of us may have time to solicit restaurants for food donations. i am sure KPFA already has pre-written letters for such occassions. emmOn 1/31/06, falt93_sergei <falt93_sergei wrote: Hi,I was suggested to share with the group the results of this smallcampaign. We did pull some money together and I delivered the meals lastFriday evening from Manzanita to KPFA radiostation in Berkeley.
