Guest guest
Do you have room in your home and your heart for a bunny in need? More than a month ago, Oakland Animal Control confiscated 30 baby rabbits from a flea market. These baby rabbits were crammed in cardboard boxes with no food, water or space to move. The Oakland Animal Shelter converted its storage room into an emergency rabbit nursery room to accommodate the baby bunnies, who are now healthy and ready for adoption. The rescue placed a serious strain on the resources of the shelter and the shelter is now dealing with severe overcrowding. Help from the public is urgently needed to find loving, indoor homes for the 30 baby bunnies and 20 additional rabbits of all shapes, colors and sizes. Tragically, the shelter is faced with having to euthanized rabbits who do not find homes. Please don't let this happen. Spread the word! Anyone interested in adopting or fostering one of the rabbits -- or even making a donation for the rabbits' care -- should contact Megan Webb at 510-535-5604 or email volunteer. Thank you!
