Guest guest
Hi folks I wanted to give folks a heads-up about an upcoming reading and group discussion of the classic "Animal Liberation" by Peter Singer. If you haven't yet read this book, or have always wanted to read it and discuss it in a supportive environment with like-minded folks, this is your opportunity! What: Book Discussion: Animal Liberation by Peter SingerWhere: SF (Civic Center)When: 2/12/06 Sunday, 3 to 5 pm Questions: Tammy [ http://www.bayareaveg.org/rsvp.htm?id=1022 ]RSVP: http://www.evite.com//cl_feb2006Full Details: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=1022#1022 This event is happening as part of the Compassionate Living Program and the February selection for the BAVEG Book Club. The BAVEG Book Club will feature an animal rights or vegetarian topic every quarter. I've tenatively listed a few books that I'm interested in reading - if anyone has feedback or other suggestions for nominations, you're welcome to propose them. It would be wonderful to get a mix of folks who are new and experienced with animal rights to discuss this book. So, just a heads-up so folks can mark their calendar and have plenty of time to get the book and read it! Cheers, Tammy Map it Veg! http://www.frappr.com/baveg http://www.frappr.com/vegetarians ____ "This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
