Guest guest
Hi folks Just thought I'd send out a reminder that it's a NEW college semester and a NEW opportunity to jump on the bandwagon and join others in adopting a college and leafleting the students to go veg with Vegan Outreach's Adopt-a-College program. Since the program's inception, nearly half-a-million leaflets have been distributed, with over 100,000 by a single individual. College students are typically more receptive to make changes and go veg, and any reduction they make in eating animals is even more effective since they are younger. . As folks who attended our advocacy workshop on Sunday learned, Suzanne Haws, who is the top AAC leafleter in the Bay Area, leafleting is fun, easy, and highly effective. Leafleting gets this important information into the hands of someone who may not otherwise receive this info. Suzanne made several excellent points about the overall advantages of leafleting (raising awareness of cruelty to animals, influencing someone to go veg) versus the few disadvantages (people don't want the leaflets or the small few who make a mean comment). The more leaflets we get out there, the more chances we have to reach someone who will truly be receptive and concerned about animal suffering and choose to go veg. Even if you work full-time as I do, there's still opportunities to leaflet at a local college. I go to a local college on my lunch break. I go once a month while school is in session. I've handed out 1100 leaflets. I know others who leaflet at special college events, like new student orientations, graduation, or concerts where youth are likely to attend.
