Guest guest
Hi folks, I got this email that asked "if you've thought of starting anything so that single veggies may meet one another." I thought this would be a good opportunity to just address this topic publically in case anyone else has the same question about organizing a singles events or really any type of event/activity for Bay Area Vegetarians. To start with, while BAVeg doesn't have events that are for "singles" exclusively, alot of our events (both advocacy and social) are attended by people who are "single". As far as having events dedicated towards singles (or any other type of event or activity): members are welcome and encouraged to suggest events & activities for Bay Area Vegetarians, especially if they have the enthusiasm/energy to organize. Realistically, the most critical factor in having an event is someone who is engaged and enthusiastic and willing to devote time/energy to it. We do have a few guidelines for our events but they're pretty basic, such as vegan food and we don't promote/condone behaviour/activities that are detrimental to animals. So, if you'd like to work with Bay Area Vegetarians to organize a singles event, or some other type of group activity, please review the information about our group and our philosophy (on our website) to see if its a good fit for your idea, and then drop me an email about it..... http://BayAreaVeg.org Cheers, Tammy Map it Veg! http://www.frappr.com/baveg http://www.frappr.com/vegetarians ____ "This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
