Guest guest
Here: http://news./s/ap/20051220/ap_on_hi_te/ebay_pets is an article announcing ebay has decided not to lift its ban on most live-animal sales after receiving letters from more than 2,000 users asking the company to keep the ban. We wrote at BAV letter-writing parties to ebay, asking the company not to allow sales of live animals, exotic animal body parts, etc. This certainly inspires me to keep up the letter writing! And, since most people do not write letters, when people do write, typically companies consider that opinion to be representing many others. Writing effective letters is going to be one of the topics covered at the Compassionate Living Program's Effective Advocacy for Animals presenation on January 8th. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
