Guest guest
Hi everybody, It is becoming apparent to me that despite my best efforts to avoid having a car, there are occasions when I really do need a car for activist events, particularly to visit various schools around the Bay Area, most of which are not near public transportation. (I offer free presentations at schools about animal issues, environmental issues, vegetarianism, and other good stuff. I'm also working with students at different schools to try to get more vegan options in their cafeteria.) So far, I have gotten by mostly by using City Car Share, which is expensive and is therefore a deterrent for me. I figured I would reach out to the vegetarian and animal-rights community to see if, by any chance, some wonderful person who lives in San Francisco and has a car that they don't use every day might be willing to very occasionally lend me their car. I would of course pay for gas and we could work out details of other payments if necessary. I have had my driver's license for about 10 years now, and I have never been in an accident nor have I ever had a moving violation. I'm thinking I would borrow the car a few times per month-- not very often. I know this is an unorthodox request, but we are all working for the same good cause here, so I thought it was worth a try. Please get in touch if this sounds remotely doable for you, and we can discuss details from there. Thanks, everybody, for all you do, Nora
