Guest guest
754 Kirham St/12th Ave SF former location of HULU house which went out of business 415 682 0826 M-Sat 10-2:30pm 4:30pm-9pm Sun 5-9pm Chinese vegetarian restaurant, with the majority of the dishes are vegan. I informed them what vegan means, hopefully they will know for sure if the chow mein, potstickers, wonton are vegan. Entrees are around $7, nothing over $8. The prices are very cheap, I hope they can pay the rent in what they are charging. Weekday Lunch special are a bargain. $5.50 includes soup, rice and spring roll Brown rice served The decor of the restaurant is painted yellow, that matches the color of their menu. I personally think the place is too bright. == I asked them why Hulu house closed, one gentleman thinks, the owner was not able to open the restaurant by herself, since a lot of workers lefted. (Most of the new restaurant workers did not know what happened.) One of the Hulu's Chef, the owner's brother, went back to Singapore. Hulu House, I think, did not expect to close since they wanted to order "HULU" pins from Wild Bryde Jewlery, a vegan business owner, just a month before they closed. The new workers are Buddhist vegetarians from a Temple on Van Ness Ave. They speak Cantonese and Mandarin. == Cafe Gratitude, Grand Opening this monday on 9th Ave/Irving and Judah I do not more details, I hope someone will post more info soon. Several doz people have details but might not have time to post. The place is very narrow, but you gotta check out the garden, there's a tall surprise in the back. Dress warm if dining outside. (good time to test your winter wear) I will plan a group dinner there right after Thanksgiving. The group dinner will be offered at a discount. More details soon. Please be prepared for last minute dinner announcements. == note: Hulu House, was one of Sunny, Mary, owner of Herbivore, Eds' favorite restaurants, it wasn't perfect, but we try to support it. There are worse restaurants out there. If you are willing to give Feel Real restaurant on Judah and 45th ave, a chance, please do, they should have stable hours now.. .., let's give them another chance. I haven't been there for over 6 months. All I know is, they now offer homemade giant vegan organic cookies for $3. sign, Sunnysignature: I turned off the volume on my phone now.
