Guest guest
Hello! My boyfriend and I stopped in last night for dinner at the newly renovated Half Moon Bay Inn in downtown Half Moon Bay (401 Main St. * 650.560.9758) and were VERY pleased to find several easily noted vegan options on the menu. These included: Hummus & Baba Ghanouj, Fried Artichoke Hearts (with vegan aioli!), Wilted Spinach & Garlic, Lemon & Herb Artichokes, a delicious (I believe homemade) Veggie Tofu Burger (with Veganaise), and a surprisingly yummy Chile Relleno. While they have yet to add any vegan desserts to the menu, they do offer soy chai lattes. As a HMB resident, the vegan choices have been steadily increasing and to have a restaurant consciously catering to such options is fantastic! Additionally, as the late owls that we are, we were happy to find that they're open til Midnight pretty much every night - though I believe they start winding down around 10 p.m. on the food items, but many are still available at the bar. Lastly, we were super suprised to see they'll be having a " Vegan Feast " on Thanksgiving including Tofurky with roasted onion gravy, wilted spinach w/ sautéed garlic & soymilk mashed potatoes. Granted, the vegan menu isn't nearly as large at the " traditional " one, but the fact they were offering it, I think is a step a good direction. Plus, they're into supporting locally produced, organic foods. I'll be adding the Half Moon Bay Inn to the UG, but until then, I thought everyone would like a head's up on this place.
