Guest guest
I watched this locally-produced show on KQED for the first time yesterday. Interesting concept. Perhaps someone from the group might want to suggest a program to them about area veg restaurants. This would be a great way to introduce the non-veg audience to vegetarian food options while at the same time promoting three of the best veg eateries. One caveat, though. Be aware that the format of the program is based on three "reviewers," all of whom suggest one restaurant for the other two to visit in round-robin fashion. For this reason, the producers of the show will need to agree to a show which features three vegetarian/vegan restaurants as each participant samples the food the other two recommend. Anyone who is interested in pursuing this should check out their website below. http://blogs.kqed.org/food/ Ron Landskroner
Guest guest
Ronald, You present an interesting idea. But, I have one quibble with it. I think it'd be better for the show to have one vegetarian who introduces two other reviewers to a vegetarian or vegan restaurant. Then, when they visit the other two restaurants, as suggested by the other two reviewers, and it becomes clear that there is nothing on the menu the vegetarian can eat, that'll be a pretty damning criticism of the other two places. Perhaps a few shows like that, and more restaurants will realize that they need to cater to a wider set of possible diners. I mean, if one out of every eight dining parties has at least one vegetarian or vegan in them, then that means that a restaurant without any vegetarian options other than a few salads is going to lose at least 12% of their potential business--more if you consider that as the size of the dining party grows, so does the likelihood that one or more persons in the party wil be vegan or vegetarian. What do you think? Sam On Sat, 12 Nov 2005, Ronald Landskroner wrote: > I watched this locally-produced show on KQED for the first time > yesterday. Interesting concept.
