Guest guest
Hi folks We had a yummy BAVEG dinner there last nite. Our section of the table enjoyed two appetizers - scallion pancakes and spring rolls, followed by an awesome Curry Vegetable dish (variety of vegetables, including my favorite, broccoli, and tofu, in a tasty curry sauce, very similar to Garden Fresh curry), Family Style Tofu, Vegetarian Ham, Asparagus Chicken, and Chen Pi Vegetarian Beef. All the faux meat dishes also included vegetables, which were cooked just right. The asparagus tasted especially good that nite (very fresh). Everything was well-seasoned, tasty, and really enjoyable. Some Chinese food tastes oily, but theirs does not. Six of us shared 2 appetizers, 5 entrees above, and brown rice -- all for the whopping low total of $11/person (and that included a big tip). Easy (free) street parking usually available right in front of the restaurant, Sam Trans bus stop very convenient, and Cal Trans/San Mateo is about 6 blocks (15 minutes) away. On Friday and Saturdays they open until 10 pm! The only *bad* thing about the restaurant -- they remain a hidden treasure and don't have a lot of business.
