Hey Veg friends-

Just a reminder that I'm hosting a veggie thanksgiving

(which I call a community gratitude day)... please sign up

and tell me if you'd like to join us.

If I don't get much interest by 11/20/05, I will cancel,

and go to another veggie thanksgiving event.

Below is the info from the website. please email me at

lori_nami if you want to join us.

p.s. Where I live is a 10 minute drive from SJ, 10 minutes

from Mountain View, 10-15 minutes from Fremont, and 20

minutes from Palo Alto!

notes

Please join me for vegan community gratitude dinner on

Thursday November 24th at 5:30 pm. We'll be having a

'traditional' thanksgiving dinner---but all Vegan. Dinner

will start promptly at 6 pm.

Each person will be asked to bring one vegan dish. Please

tell me in advance what you are bringing so we don't have

15 pumpkin pies!

I will supply plates, cloth napkins, drinks, un-turkey, one

dessert, and a welcoming home. You'll bring one dish to

share, and one thing you are thankful for. There will be an

oven and microwave for reheating, but please cook your food

in advance, I have a very small kitchen.

A note on allergies...this home contains one dog and one

cat. However, I do have air filters, and will clean before

you arrive. Most of my allergic friends have no problem in

my home, however if you are very allergic you should bring

your medicine, or find another event to join.

There's probably an interesting study in there somewhere about the psychology of how and when people RSVP for events! I guess Thanksgiving is coming up quicker than we think.

The November BAVeg News listed all of our Thanksgiving events. And, with the exception of the event in Oakland (which is a dinner at a restaurant), the others are "Vegan Food Party" style (everyone brings something to share). But that was at the beginning of the month... Typically the organizer posts the announcement of the event, but in case anyone missed, here's a recap.

http://www.bayareaveg.org/news

11/24 Vegan Thanksgiving Dinner - Cooked and Raw Foods Welcome - El Sobrante 11/24 Vegan Thanksgiving Celebration - SF - Castro 11/24 Vegan Thanksgiving Feast - Woodacre 11/24 Thanksgiving Dinner (restaurant) - Oakland 11/24 Community Gratitude Dinner - Milpitas

Please RSVP as a yes or tenative if you're interested in attending so the organizers can plan accordingly. While typically last-minute RSVPs are okay for most events, typically people like to coordinate the food for Thanksgiving-themed dinners and if there is not a sufficient response to support all the events, then it does make sense to merge them.

There are also two other Thanksgiving day events - Marin VEG is hosting plus there's also a Lesbian potluck in the East Bay. See the list archives for details.

Cheers,

Tammy
