11/11, San Mateo, Dinner at new Vegetarian Gourmet restaurant

Hi folks

Let's get out there and enjoy a yummy meal at San Mateo's newest and second vegetarian restaurant. For vegans, it is vegan-friendly, too. So, I'm organizing a dinner for Friday Nov 11th. We'll gather at 6:30 and order at 7 pm (just off the menu). If you'd like to join us, please RSVP using evite

This is a pretty new restaurant, so far getting good reviews, come check it out -- with us on the 11th, or just try it on your own.

We were there on a Friday (last week) and while there was initially 4 or maybe 5 other tables with diners, by time we left two hours later, the place was vacant. On another weekday, we were the only diners.

I know this is a vegetarian business and not a "non profit charity" -- but, for people who enjoy eating vegetarian foods (whether you are veg or not), and especially for people who enjoy eating at all vegetarian restaurants, please try this new restaurant! There is a big scarcity of vegetarian restaurants on the Peninsula so I would really like to see this one do well.

The restaurant business is hard. And, vegetarian restaurants have a smaller potential market of customers so it's even riskier for people who try to succeed by opening an all-veg restaurant. That is one of the reasons why I choose to eat mostly at veg restaurants (there's enough other people who will eat at non-veg ones). San Mateo is a big city, and it definitely could use a vegetarian restaurant that is as vegan-friendly as this one. I also want to add that there's street parking in front of the restaurant, and it's free (no meters!)
