Hi folks

A couple of years ago, Bay Area Vegetarians started hosting regional Thanksgiving celebrations. In the October newsletter, I asked for volunteers interested in organizing a local Thanksgiving celebration. It could be a Vegan Food Party* at their home, a dinner at their favorite restaurant, etc. Thank you to Kim/Jamie, George, Joanna & Mike and Jordan for responding!

We have three community events currently planned, and Marin VEG is organizing an event in San Rafael.

1) San Francisco - VFP at private home in Castro neighborhood, host: Kim & Jamie

2) East Bay - Restaurant dinner at New World Restaurant, host: George

3) Contra Costa - VFP at private home in El Sobrante, host: Joanna & Mike in conjunction with Jordan (the last this is a cooked and raw foods VFP)

While the above events are on Thanksgiving Day, a celebration can also be held the weekend before.

Peninsula? South Bay?

So, if you live in an area not close to one of the events already planned, and would like to organize or attend a vegan celebration in your neighborhood, please let me know. For Kim & Jamie and Jordan, this is their third year hosting a Thanksgiving day celebration (or "Turkey Liberation Day").

*Vegan Food Party is our term for a meal where each participant brings something yummy and vegan to share. For the Thanksgiving dinners, it's up to the host to decide if they're doing a traditional coordinated Thanksgiving menu or if it's a regular VFP where people bring a spontaneous assortment of dishes.

Cheers,

Tammy
