Guest guest
I don't think lab " meat " will taste the same as regular meat, and I don't think carnivores will flock to it in droves. What _will_ happen, IMHO, is that vegetarians will use lab meat as a source of protein, just like they use TVP. I mean, if you take a few apple cells and clone them on a petridish, you won't get something that you can bite into with the gusto reserved for a juicy Empire; why should meat be any different? Speaking of gusto, yesterday I had dinner at the Cafe Gratitude on Harrison. The menu was ... interesting. The atmosphere was great; the food was great; the line was long. They seated us on a large table with 2 other couples, which made the first date a lot easier, since I'm not the greatest of conversationalists (these lengthy emails notwithstanding, of course). They had vegan wine from Coturri, bottled specially for them. The service, though, left a little to be desired; it wasn't bad, but slightly rough around the edges (rookie mistakes were made). The good news is that Gratitude will be opening another restaurant in the city, and another one in Berkeley. Expect both to be up and running by the end of this year. All in all: 4.5 lipsmacks on a scale of 5. Highly recommended. Start your day with - Make it your home page! http://www./r/hs
