RE: Update on sunday TJ's protest: MEDIA

As most of you know, this campaign to encourage TJs to carry only cage-free

eggs is sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States.

 

We've been talking about making the connection to people who care for

animals and encouraging them to make the bridge their compassion for

cats/dogs/companion animals to other animals. Well, I think being able to

approach people with information on factory farming cruelty from the " Humane

Society " is a great first step.

 

PETA is one of my favorite groups, so don't get me wrong -- but it's a lot

easier (and seems much more " mainstream " ) to offer information from the

Humane Society. When most people hear those words, they think of where they

or their neighbor adopted their last pet. I found this out first-hand when

we did leafleting last month after Paul Shapiro from HSUS spoke.

 

Anyways, if you are new to leafleting, or just haven't done it for awhile,

don't worry, you'll be in good company because Nora has tons of experience

and she's always happy to give a quick demo. And I think she has a banner

so if you're really shy, maybe you can just hold the banner or just be there

to stand in solidarity with other caring people.
