Guest guest
Hi folks This was posted in the BAVeg discussion forum and I thought I'd cross-post it here in case anyone can help Rocket Dog Rescue w/fostering a rescued Katrina dog. For folks new to the forum, it's an online board where you need to log-in to post messages, and the discussions stay threaded by the different posts. With our forum, you can chose to " watch " a category and receive automatic emails (like below) everytime a new post is submitted. Cheers, Tammy http://www.bayareaveg.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2788#2788 -------------- Rocket Dog Rescue, a 501 C 3 non profit shelter dog rescue in San Francisco, is receiving groups of Katrina Dogs in the upcoming weeks and we need foster homes NOW! The number of dogs we can save is only limited to the number of foster homes we can get. Rocket Dog Rescue will find homes for unclaimed animals by putting them on our website and having weekly adopt-a-thons. These dogs are basically celebrities so you can expect them to be snatched up fairly quickly when they go up for adoption. Foster homes must be willing to hold on to the dogs for at least one month. After that, if the dogs are not claimed by their owners, foster parents will have the first option to adopt the dog. To foster, you must meet this minimum time commitment. We need foster homes NOW as they are starting to euthanize some of the dogs. Time is of the essence. If you want to be a part of this life-saving operation and know that you stepped up when these animals really needed you, please respond today! When you email, please list what size and activity level of dog you are willing to foster (we mainly have a need for large dog foster homes but anything will do!). Many of the dogs are wonderful, sweet, smart, fabulous pit bulls that need our help, so if you are willing to take on one of these great guys or gals, please let us know. Please also keep in mind that we don\'t know these dogs very well and they are coming out of a pretty crazy situation. Be sure that this is something you will be willing to commit to before you contact us. Once the dogs are out here and in your possession, we cannot \ " take them back\ " if they are not house trained, chew up your shoes, etc. You need to be willing to work with them on stuff like this. But we guarantee you, it will be one of the best things you ever do! We have been out there saving dogs and these dogs are soooo grateful and happy to be loved.
