Guest guest
Just got back from the Berkeley Letter Writing Party at Fellini. There were 5 of us (including Sara, the organizer; thank you Sara). The food was delicious (vegan pizza, vegan pasta, etc.), and we all had a good time chatting away. I drove from Sunnyvale, battling the rush-hour traffic for 1.5 hours on my trusty steed Sonja... and most of the Berkeley/Oakland locals didn't make it! Next time, I hope more of you can make it. Jeff (the owner) stopped by and sat down to talk to us about the email(s) flying about. In short: he denied all the charges. He even made it a point to fetch a large box of eggs from his kitchen, and they were stamped " cage free " , etc. He seemed very eager to tell his side of the story; and honestly, I believed him. After speaking to him, *and* seeing the amount of effort he puts into reaching out to the veg*an community (the LWP, the plethora of vegan options on the menu, etc.), I think it would be a travesty if people were to just stop patronizing his place based on a letter from an unknown person. If you do have concerns, go over to Fellini and ask him; in the interest of fairness, at least hear both sides of the story before you make up your mind. Ajay Full disclosure: I have no relationship with Fellini, I'm just a customer.
