Guest guest
Hi folks As you may have noticed, we have had some recent posts about the tragedy in the Katrina aftermath relating to animals. While the list is typically focused on alerts with a local presence (to avoid being overwhelmed with all of the national and international alerts), we knew that folks would want to be involved and help in this situation. It is now becoming more of a local issue as rescued animals are being sheltered in the Bay Area http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/09/12/BAGQQEM9ND1.DTL Anyways, as a general reminder for all posts -If you are posting information, please check to make sure it hasn't already been posted, and please sign your post. We're a local community list, and this mailing list helps us stay connected to each other across the Bay Area, and sometimes beyond for the folks living abroad. Especially if you are asking someone to act upon information you're providing, please sign your post. It doesn't matter if you're acting as an individual or representing a group, or forwarding information that you received, please sign your post. Thanks! As a side note, at the PETA Gala this past weekend in LA, PETA talked about their rescue efforts underway, and Ingrid made a special point to thank the PETA staff who were in the field in New Orleans helping with the rescue. All the money from that nite's silent auction benefitted their emergency rescue fund.
