Guest guest
I spoke with YAPING (one of the sisters), who's English was very good. She said they have mock " oyster " soy sauce. Everything in the restaurant is vegan including the MOCK meats, NO dairy products (no whey), no eggs. The mock meat is usually made with soy. They are not a Buddhist restaurant but they can take out the onions and garlic out of the dish if requested. The restaurant opened 2 weeks ago for health, animal and environmental reasons. They try to use paper rather than plastic products. YAPING knows what vegan means and recently had to explain the meaning of it to her sister (probably the person, Amy came across); since they've been getting questions on it. They are located on B St between 6th & 7th St, parking is easy except for thursdays when there's a music festival at the place next to them. They are open everyday except for sunday from 11-3pm and 5-9pm. credit cards accepted. == by the way, I " ve noticed, more and more restaurants are closed between 3-5 so they can go shopping or go on breaks. Alive!, Hulu house, Bok Choy, New World Veg is like that. So be aware where, if you're hungry at 4pm, you have to go to the right restaurant that's opened at that time. , amy lynn <veggiegrrrl@c...> wrote: > hey again everyone, > since there's an oyster sauce issue at vegetarian gourmet in san mateo, > i'm wondering if the mock meats have whey. the woman on the phone said > NO MEAT, NO EGGS when i called a few days back. but i wasn't specific. > by the way, the phone number is 650-373-7878
