Guest guest
Hi folks Someone recently commented to me that SFBAVEG seemed " very AR-oriented, including national or international AR issues ". I was a bit surprised but mostly curious... it certainly wasn't my impression, but I thought I'd review the roughly 150 posts for July 2005 to see what they said: In general, they were as follows: 47% event posts (pretty evenly split between social and advocacy type events) 31% veg discussion 10% advocacy / animal rights 9% animal adoptions/foster/advice 3% housing/jobs Do these results surprise you? Or do they reflect your general impression of SFBAVEG? Seems like the list is pretty balanced between vegetarian discussion and advocacy type stuff . As a general rule, national or international AR alerts/campaigns aren't posted unless there is a local relevance. And while vegans tend to be more outspoken on the list, I know there are vegetarians as well as aspiring veg*ns too. But the most obvious statement I can make about the topics is this: the people who post have a bigger say in the discussions on the list. And, the easiest solution to see the type of discussions that you're interested in is to contribute a question, observation, or review. And, of course, for the folks who think there's already too much discussion on the list, Bay Area Vegetarians does maintain other mailing lists and you may find one that better suits your needs, or the online forum (bulletin board) http://www.bayareaveg.org/lists.htm Cheers, Tammy Join Team BAVeg and volunteer to make a difference..Free Restaurant Guide or Create Your Own - Monthly Event Calendar - Veggie Mentor ProgramCurrent Newsletter Bay Area Vegetarians * www.BayAreaVeg.org
