NOTE: Kids of all ages are welcome! There is a 'kids room' with slide and a few toys/books in the Common House (we will be having the potluck in the Great Room of the Common House).CONTRA COSTA VEGETARIANS' VEGAN POTLUCK! (Vegan = no animal products of any kind;ie, no meat, fish, eggs, dairy, honey, etc.)SATURDAY, AUGUST 20, 20056:00 P.M.: GATHER; 6:30 P.M.: EAT2200 LISA LANE in PLEASANT HILLIn the Common House of the PH Co-housing CommunityOur hosts, Veena and Murthy live in one of the units in this community - www.phch.org Contact info: veenaachar AT hotmail.com; PLEASE BRING:--one dish (per attendee) to feed 6-8 people--an autographed copy of your recipe to place by your dish for others to read/copy/inquire about--your own reusable plate, cup, silverware, napkin (and don't forget a serving spoon)Directions:BART and bike/walk along Iron Horse Trail:Take the train to Pleasant Hill BART station.When you come out of the fare gates, walk toward your left and then on the sidewalk behind the BART station along the bus stops. After you pass the BART parking structure, cross the street (you are on Coggins Dr) and go LEFT on the Iron Horse trail . Walk on the trail parallel to Coggins Dr and then the trail curves to the right and continues (if you go Right on the Iron Horse trail and reach /see Treat Blvd, you are going the wrong way). Walk along the trail and follow the trail signs. You will cross two city streets – Mayhew and then Hookston , before you reach the Lisa Lane street crossing. When you reach Lisa Lane, you will see Fair Oaks elementary school on your right (Lisa Lane dead-ends into the school).

Pleasant Hill Cohousing is next door to the school on the left side of Lisa Lane with a sign that says ‘2200 Pleasant Hill Cohousing’ and another one that says ‘Caution – Kids Playing’. You cant miss our mango colored buildings with blue metal roofs! (well.. the main 'common house' building is white and blue) Enter the driveway and take the main community path to get behind the big building (the entrance is on that side)DRIVING: From Berkeley/Oakland:Take Highway 24 east toward Walnut Creek.Then I-680 North. After Treat/Geary Blvd exits, take the Monument Blvd exit (it's immediately after Contra Costa Blvd exit).At the exit signal light, go right onto Monument Blvd.Then straight through 1st light and right on Marcia Dr just before the Valero Gas station.Make immediate left onto Lisa Lane.Go down Lisa Lane to where it dead ends at Fair Oak Elementary School.Pleasant Hill Cohousing is next door to the school on the left side of Lisa Lane with a sign that says ‘2200 Pleasant Hill Cohousing’ and another one that says ‘Caution – Kids Playing’. (well.. the main 'common house'building is white and blue) From Concord and areas north of Pleasant Hill:Head down on I-680 South.After Willow Pass Road Exit, take the Gregory Lane/Monument Blvd Exit.It will be a long exit off-ramp. (Go toward Monument Blvd; stay on right two lanes of the wide exit at the signal)At the exit signal light, curve left onto Monument Blvd.Then straight through 1st light (which is Buskirk) and turn right on Marcia Dr just before the Valero Gas station.Make immediate left onto Lisa Lane.Go down Lisa Lane to where it dead ends at Fair Oak Elementary School.Pleasant Hill Cohousing is next door to the school on the left side of Lisa Lane with a sign that says ‘2200 Pleasant Hill Cohousing’ and another one that says ‘Caution – Kids Playing’. (well.. the main 'common house' building is white and blue)Parking: The spaces in the parking lot are mostly reserved for the residents, so please park along the fence on the outside of the property at the Iron Horse trail (DO NOT block fire access) or along the school gate or on neighbourhood streets. When you walk into the complex, the common house is straight ahead of you, but the main entrance to the common house is on the opposite side of the building, so walk to the right of the building, and take the main path on the left, which curves around to the common house entrance.-----------------
