Friends,

For this month's second wednesday dinner party we'll feast on some yummy

Vietnamese cuisine at a restaurant called Mekong.

That's wednesday, June 8th! I'm now accepting reservations for this event.

Come on over for a fun dinner! Mekong is an interestng place. You should be

aware it's not a vegetarian place! But the thing that qualified them for my

dinner party is the fact that they are trying really hard to be veg-friendly in

the sense that almost all of their meat entrees can be ordered with tastey fake

meat and I am told the owner has recently revised the menu to give more

PROMINENCE to the meat-free option. And the menu, having been duly substituted,

has a lot of things that no strictly veg restaurant in SF has.

Of course, half the fun is getting to meet the other cool and friendly people

who'll show up -- it's a great opportunity to make community and get to know

pople in what can otherwise be a pretty anonymous city.

Please be sure to RSVP to me No Later Than Tuesday, June 7 if you want to go.

Mekong, 791 O'farrell St. @ Larkin. We'll gather at 6:30pm and eat at 7pm. We

will simply order from the menu - vegan only of course! Family Style. Cost

will be split among the participants -- cost should be about $13-$15 each.

This is an official Bay Area Vegetarians event; see their website at

http://www.bayareaveg.org

The best way to get there is by public transport, From the West, take the 38L to

Leavenworth (I think...) and walk west 1 block. From the east, take the 38L and

hop off at Leavenworth, then just stroll a block south to O'farrell and a block

west to Larkin. By BART just get off at Montgomery, climb out the exit at Post

St. and wait nearby for the 38L outbound. Email me for Caltrain directions or

specifics from other parts of town.

Looking forward to seeing y'all.
