5/21, Palo Alto, KFC demo -- Saturday!!

Please support this event! (see Candace's emamil below) We only had two of us for our Pacific demo last week until the last 10 minutes when 2 more showed up. So I'm sure Candace would like some company, especially since this is the first time she is organizing the demo :-) If you're not in the South Bay/Peninsula area, there are other KFC demos happening in SF on the 21st as well as in Santa Cruz on the 22nd.

For folks new to the list - PETA is asking KFC to eliminate the worst abuses that chickens suffer on the factory farms and in the slaughterhouses of its suppliers, including live scalding, life-long crippling, and painful debeaking. The more than 850 million chickens killed each year for KFC are tortured in ways that would result in felony cruelty-to-animals charges if cats or dogs were the victims, but KFC still refuses to make changes. As the leader in the chicken industry, KFC has a responsibility to ensure that the chickens raised for its buckets are protected from the worst cruelties. Read more at ..

Please join me in a newly organized demonstration at KFC in Palo Alto (El Camino near California St.) We will meet from noon until 1 or so, then we could have lunch at Bay Leaf.I will have plenty of signs, but your own signs are welcome, too.
