Guest guest
(Sorry for the duplicate emails) URGENT! All Animal Place volunteers are needed to help make this happen. We need your help to get important legislation passed. It will go to the assembly floor before June 3rd, so the time to act is now. This is for AB1685, authored by Assemblymember Johan Klehs for us, which will prohibit the slaughter of animals on school property and allow students to opt out of animal agricultural activities that they morally object to, such as castrating piglets or dehorning cattle. Killing farm animals in high schools is a horrible practice that we should stop. We don't need more violence in our schools, and certainly don't want this type of animal suffering to be part of the public educational system. It's incredibly easy to help- all you need to do is sign a letter and mail it. We will provide you with the letter already stamped and ready to go! Every letter really counts (think of all the people who do not voice their opinion), and it's another step in educating other people about how we should or should not treat animals. Please- just reply that you can help, and include your current mailing address so I can send you a ready-made letter. All you have to do is sign it & put it in the mail. It's that quick and easy to help with this. Magnolia the turkey (FFA project), Peggy Sue the pig (FFA project), and your favorite Howie the cow (saved from being an FFA project) THANK YOU for helping them. --Varina Animal Place ps You can write you own letter if you choose, just ask your assemblymember to support AB1685. If you have any questions about how to do this or what to say, please feel free to ask me and I will give you all the info you need.
