Guest guest
" this column runs every two weeks in the Metroactive, and features delightful columns about being a vegetarian in the Bay Area, including this recent one after hearing that Stoa's had started serving fish again " http://www.metroactive.com/papers/cruz/04.27.05/dining-0517.html Since the column was dated end of April, I was quite surprised to learn today that Stoa's closed in March! They'd been in the new location for about 5 months. So FYI for anyone (else) who hadn't heard the news. Anyways, I'm happy to report that Bay Leaf Cafe is still serving yummy food, and using a lot of seasonal & organic produce for their specials. Try their new cucumber drink! And the Indian specials are always good. Bay Leaf Cafe in downtown Palo Alto is, I just realized, involved with three BAVeg Events! Sean's ever popular 2nd Tuesday of the month dinner http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=768#768 After the Palo Alto KFC demo that Candace is hosting, on the 3rd Saturday of the month, some real food at Bay Leaf is possible. http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=804#804 Robin's letter writing party - 4th Tuesday of the month http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=810#810 I think it's important to realize how much support BayLeaf Cafe provides to the local vegetarian community, beyond just being a source of food (and vegan ice cream!)
