Guest guest
Hi folks Another store that I recently re-discovered in one of my travels: Layonna's in Oakland on 8th St This food store sells only vegetarian foods, and what appealed to me is that they sell TVP (in different sizes) in bulk, which seems particularly useful, especially if you just want to try a small amount. They also had trays of fake meats in the refrigerator case, and lots of different frozen faux meat items, etc. plus an assortment of canned and dry goods. While I've seen many of these same faux meats at "Ranch 99" stores, to me, this is a much nicer shopping experience since it's all veggie and I don't have to accidentally wander by any meat stuff. I didn't get a chance to read the labels or do any in-depth shopping, but for folks new to the area, thought I'd pass this along as worth a visit next time you're in the area. http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/display.htm?id=253 It is just across the street from New World Vegetarian restaurant ( where Bob hosts our 3rd Sunday dinner ).
