volunteer tax help needed for grassroots veg group

This is not local, but a fantastic young organization that I

do a lot of work with, Chicago-based Protecting

Animals, USA (which founded The Empathy Project

and has been airing pro-veg commercials on MTV in cities around the country),

is looking for assistance from someone experienced in filling out Form 990 and

other nonprofit tax forms.

 

PA-USA is a three-year old nonprofit run completely by

volunteers. They are totally focused on promoting vegetarianism through

outreach and education. They run Gabe Quash’s VegVideo program,

they fill PETA newspaper stands, they leaflet and do vegan feed-ins on college

and high school campuses, they do “Meet Your Meat” screenings

outside busy concerts, they table at events all over the place, they do humane

ed presentations, they run veg commercials—all with just volunteers. To

allocate as much funding as possible to reducing animal suffering, they have

avoided paying expensive attorney fees by filling out these forms themselves. Visit www.protectinganimals.org

coming in and now need some help in this area. If either a CPA or someone

experienced in nonprofit accounting could check over their forms as well as

answer some basic accounting questions, it would be a big help. If you can you
