Guest guest
Hi EveryoneThis has been a really wonderful month for Bay Area Vegetarians... Some great news items to share:Our non-profit tax-exempt 501©(3) status was approved earlier this month. Bay Area Vegetarians, incorporated in the State of California, has tax-exempt status from the State and Federal government. So, all donations are now tax-deductible.With thanks to generous financial support from Chuck B, Frank C, Gabe Q, George G, Nicolas A, Rebecca Y, Stephanie V and Mark H, we have raised the necessary funds to reserve a booth space at San Francisco Gay Pride and will return for the 3rd year with our message of compassion and good health. And the icing on the cake was that we've got very good coverage in local Pacifica & Half Moon Bay papers about our two Pacifica Meat-Out events and Bay Area Vegetarians in general. Our film screening on Saturday attracted almost 40 people, with half being local mid-coast folks. When we polled who was already vegetarian, we found our promotion for the event reached a roughly even mix of already vegetarian and interested in being veg. We'd like to give a big thank you to the wonderful volunteers who helped us organize our Meat-Out events in Pacifica & San Francisco: Tracy, Amy, Paula, Alex, and Nora. These events could not have happened without their help.If you would like to help us organize a screening of "Emotional World of Farm Animals" or "Peaceable Kingdom" in your community, please email us. Please also let us know of any upcoming street fairs or community events where a veg info table is possible.CheersTammy & ChrisBay Area Vegetarianswww.BayAreaVeg.org
