Guest guest
The Forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters, and will feature the nine candidates running for the Oakland City Council, to replace departed Council member, Danny Wan, District 2. It'll be at Oakland City Hall, Hearing Room 1, 6pm, on Friday, March 4. It'd be good to have some pro-animal people in the audience asking questions of all candidates regarding their views on, e.g.: the animal shelter (new director, funding, removing Animal Services out from under the Police Dept., etc.); live animal food markets; traveling circuses and rodeos; etc. We really need strong advocates for animals and the environment on the City Council, and here's our chance. (I think the Forum will also be televised on Cable 10.) Spread the word, please. Eric Mills, coordinator ACTION FOR ANIMALS
