Guest guest
Please join Bay Area Vegetarians for the first monthlyBerkeley Letter Writing Party (LWP), Tuesday March 8at 7pm!Writing your congressperson (especially a hand-writtenletter) is a very effective way to make your voiceheard on animal protection issues (I received asupportive reply from my congressperson last time Iwrote her). Getting together to write these lettersis a fun way to learn about pending legislation, andestablish contact with the people who drive or blockthese bills.Currently there are LWPs in San Francisco on the 3rdSaturday of each month, and Palo Alto on the 4thSaturday. I'm hoping that a venue in Berkeley (on the2nd Tuesday of each month) will pull in additionalEast Bay animal supporters.Look for us in the back room of Au Coquelet, a largecafe at 2000 University Ave. (at Milvia), a fewblocks from downtown Berkeley BART. There are manyveg.-friendly restaurants nearby, and the cafe itselfserves vegetarian chili and salad, tea and coffee.I'll bring a list of state and federal legislationrelating to animals, sample letters, a list oflegislators, and pens and paper. If you want tobring your own paper, pens, and stamps, that would begreat. We can also write other state officials, businesses, etc. to encourage compassionate treatmentof animals. What: Berkeley Letter Writing PartyWhen: Tuesday 3/8 at 7 pmWhere: 2000 University Ave. (at Milvia), back roomof Au CoqueletRSVP / Event details: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=695#695RSVPs appreciated so we can plan accordingly.
