Guest guest
I'm forwarding this from the woman who rescued Ginger from the streets. Her contact info is at the end of this email. Please contact Anna, not me. Thanks for helping Ginger! Love Me Tender Hi! My name is Ginger, I am a boy, and I am about 4-6 years old. My foster mommy isn't quite sure how old I am because I have been a stray cat for a while. She was taking care of me as an outside cat until she saw me limping one day (she has asthma and severe cat allergiesachoo!so she could not bring me inside). She took me to the vet and they found out that I am FIV+ (though my paw is fine I have been neutered and am current on my vaccinations, and am now living in someone else's house until I find a permanent home. However, this person won't be able to keep me for very long, so I am anxious to find a forever home! I am the kind of cat who everyone says came from the wrong side of the tracksIve been in a lot of brawls, and have had a pretty rough life (I even have a few small scars to prove it). But Ive grown tired of playing the tough guy, and Id now like to trade in my black belt for a quieter, more peaceful lifestyle. I know my handsome face can be quite intimidating, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to be adopted! It's true that I am a little leery of people, maybe because of bad experiences in the past, so sometimes you have to approach me in a gentle way. But I just love to be petted and scratched behind the ears. When I have had enough petting, I will simply crawl under the bedafter all, until a few days ago, I was living on the street, so I am just learning how to snuggle! I like to hear the sound of people in the house, but may physically distance myself from sounds until I start to feel more comfortable. In fact, sometimes loud sounds near me make me scared, and I hide under something, so I need a lot of reassurance! I am looking for a home with a lot of soft places to sleep, warmth, plenty of food and water, fresh kitty litter, and, most importantly, someone who talks to me in a soft and gentle voice and who lovingly pets me. I am already a lot less shy around people, but I need someone who will give me time to adjust to more snuggling. Also, the vet told my foster mommy that I should probably be an inside cat for the rest of my life so I don't spread FIV to other cats. That doesn't mean I can't go outside thoughmy foster mommy is starting to take me for walks on a halter and leash (I think she's crazywhat does she think I am, a dog?). I'm not sure if I like that halter and leash thing, but I do like to sniff the fresh air and feel the grass under my paws sometimes. My favorite food is tuna, so if you want to adopt me, you'll probably have to like fish! Also, Im quite a hearty eater (I weigh about 12 pounds), maybe due to years of being out on the street, so I need to eat pretty regularly. Sometimes I like to be petted when I eat--it's kind of reassuring for me. Right now, my ideal situation would be one which would allow me to snooze most of the day (preferably in a warm, sunny spot near a window), interspersed by periods of eating and drinking, as well as some snuggling. I might decide to learn how to play with toys at some point, but for now, Im not too interested in itI cant remember if someone ever taught me how to play? Most of all, I am just looking for someone who will always be kind and be gentle with me, who will love me very much, who will take me to the vet on a regular basis, and lavish me with as much attention as I can stand so that I can learn how to trust humans again. Well, I guess that's about all you really need to know about me for now, but if you have questions, just contact my foster mommyshe can give you more details! There will be a $100 fee to adopt me, so that I know that you are really serious about me adopting you as an ownerafter all, I'm worth far more, aren't I?!? And no unscrupulous people, please--my olfactory senses can detect you even through a telephone line!
