LAST ALERT ON THIS MEETING, I PROMISE!

The State Fair Board meets at Cal Expo in Sacramento on Friday, February

25. We're on the agenda scheduled for 10:30 a.m. (I'd suggest you

arrive by 10:00 a.m.)

We have proposed that they revise their " Animal Welfare Handbook " to

include a permanent ban on elephant rides/exhibits; a permanent ban on

all wild animal acts/exhibits; and various rodeo reforms (e.g., a

permanent ban on calf roping). AND IN WRITING.

The meeting will be in Cal Expo's Administration Building, 1600

Exposition Blvd. in Sacramento (enter at Parking Lot " D " ).

Board rules allow individuals to testify for up to 3 minutes. (Though

I've been warned that anybody who gets repetitious may be cut off.)

Let's try to make this civil, and an " everybody wins " scenario, hokay?

Even if you don't plan to testify, your presence would help. Please do

confirm your attendance with me, if you've not already done so.

Nor is it too late to send a support letter/note. It should be

addressed to the State Fair Board, Cal Expo, Sacramento, CA 95815, fax

916/263-7903. The Fair's main number is 916/263-3000. Their e-mail

address is mbradley. (Mike Bradley is Chief, Bureau of

Exhibits.)

PLEASE FORWARD THIS ALERT TO ANYONE YOU DEEM APPROPRIATE.

Many thanks. Holler with any questions.

Eric Mills, coordinator
