and live in it!

 

are there 3 other socially-, envioronmentally-, and

perhaps (dare i use the word) spiritually-conscious

vegan (or freegan) folks (women would be nice, but

we'll not be exclusive, here) who want to share an

eco-friendly home, free of animal products? would you

like to live with one dog (a mid-sized

cattledog/pitt/mutt) and two 12 year-old cats

(probably it's best not to add more to the mix, but it

could be discussed, for sure)?

 

some things that are important to me in housemates:

--living life based on ethics

--doing something to make the world a little better

--love animals

--vegan at home

--buy organic foods

--understand that cleaning doesn't involve toxic

chemicals

--willing to make and stick by house agreements, made

by concensus

--neat/clean, but not obsessive

--appreciate and respect privacy, without becoming a

hermit

--reuse/reduce/recycle/conserve as much as possible

--good communication skills/honesty

 

some things that i think it would be fun to do as a

household:

--have some sort of shared cooking responsibilities

--share meals sometimes

--have an organic veggie garden and compost

 

some things that i don't desire in a household:

--constant noise or constant loud music (this is not

to say that i am silent or want constant silence.

--addiction issues (except maybe to coffee or cookies)

--lots of smoking of grass in common areas.

--meat of any kind ever.

--chemicals.

--unhealthy communication.

--members acting based on unspoken one-sided

expectations (unagreed upon agreements)

 

some of my interests (in no particular order):

--animals

--utilitarian cycling

--mindfulness meditation

--massage

--radio journalism

--civil liberties

--the environment (esp. sustainability issues)

--the arts (and participating in them more)

--friends/building community

--cooking/baking

 

i'm a 30 year-old woman, who is employed full time in

the non-profit sector, and involved in a bunch of

other stuff. so, again, the post is below (if you find

it on cl, there are pictures!). of course there are

other places available, but this place is so cool. i

know it's in emeryville (basically a gigantic shopping

mall), but the area where the house is, is quite

sweet.

 

if you're interested in feeling out this

situation/checking out the house, please send me a

descriptive email about you and your interests, and

what you like in a household, and in housemates, and

what things don't work for you.

A beautiful house available April 1 for a family or 3

to 4 friends (females preferred). The house has

Shopping Plaza and Emeryville Public Market, IKEA,

Starbucks, and several eateries. It also has very easy

access to freeway, UC Berkeley, downtown Oakland, and

above all the Emeryville Oceanfront.

 

Come live in the " cutting edge city " near the fastest

growing 'San Pablo to Pixar' corridor. You will love
