Guest guest
Is anyone currently involved in protesting at the KFC on El Camino Real in Palo Alto, near California Street? I have seen people demonstrating there, but not recently. If you have anything planned, or would like to join me in starting something, please let me know. Or, if this location didn't work out (the sidewalk is narrow), perhaps another location would be better.--Candace
Guest guest
This would be awesome to get a KFC protest going in another city, esp. the Peninsula as I don't think there's anything happening in that area. As far as I know, there are regular KFC demos being held in Pacifica, SF, Oakland, as well as the Sunnyvale/San Jose area. Are there regular KFC demos being held elsewhere? While PETA may have established the campaign on a national basis, PETA (and the chickens!) are depending on support from local individuals and organizations to make the campaign successful ... it sure looks like we're off to a good start in 2005 to letting the public know. As an aside, one of the reasons I decided to get involved in this campaign is because I've always felt most (meat-eating) people overlook chickens and their capacity to suffer. People can empathize with the big brown eyes of a cow, but they have less sympathy for chickens and even lesser for fish. Cheers, Tammy P.S: Palo Alto (at BayLeaf Cafe) is also where we host our monthly letter writing party (happening on the 4th Saturday) as well as the 2nd Tuesday restaurant dinner. Looks like Palo Alto is gonna be a hive of activity.
