Guest guest
I am a Grief Coach. The following is a flier about the program. If anyone is interested, I will be happy to provide an introduction (about an hour)to the SFBAV as an event. While I do charge for the program on a sliding scale (it's a 10-week program), I also work with the BitterSweet Animal Hospice Education Center, a nonprofit assisting people through education, practical help with their animals at home, and grief recovery (bitsweet.org under construction at the moment), and they would also be willing to provide an introduction. I hope this doesn't violate any rules, but if it does I'd be happy to reformat it under BitterSweet. Grief Recovery Outreach Program One of the least acknowledged and least addressed concerns in our society is GRIEF The normal and natural reaction to loss. Whether your loss is from: Death of a Loved One (Family Member, Child, Animal) Divorce or End of a Relationship Loss of Career Loss of Trust Loss of Dreams Loss of Security Loss of Health Grief will continue to affect our lives and the lives of those around us adversely when we are forced to accept the many MYTHS ABOUT GRIEF: Time heals all wounds Replace the loss Grieve alone Be strong for others Bury your feelings The Outreach Program will guide those who wish to resolve their Loss Issues and move beyond their grief to a richer quality of life. As a result of participating in this program, your life may become more enriched, more alive and more fulfilled than ever before. This program will be conducted by Lou Leet, Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. A separate program, Helping Children Deal With Loss, is offered for adults who would like to help children develop healthy methods of resolving their grief. This program is affiliated with and endorsed by the Grief Recovery Institute. The format has been developed by Russell P. Friedman, Executive Director and John W. James, Founder of the Grief Recovery Institute, and authors of the Grief Recovery Handbook, the Action Program for Moving Beyond Death, Divorce and Other Losses. Please call Lou Leet at (415) 760-9462 or email at wintersol for more details.
