Hi everyone: My cat just died today, and I am feeling very blue over it =( Does anyone know of any (I hate the term, but don't know what else to call it) support groups, or rituals, or anything related to how to deal with the death of a dearly loved pet? Any information would be very helpful. Thanks very much, - Rosalind >> Rosalind, When my dog died in 1997 my friends' support and visiting with other animal friends were most helpful for me. At that time the San Francisco SPCA had a free (large) packet of articles about dealing with the grief over losing a companion animal. They also had some support group meetings that I think met once a month. You could call them and find out what, if anything, they offer now. There are also books specifically about pet loss. You might do a search on the web or ask your favorite bookstore. I'm sorry that I can't find the specific books on my shelves.
