Guest guest
Dear fellow animal lovers: Does anyone have a recomendation for vets that make house calls? I have a 17 year old cat that is ill, and I may eventually need to do the " humane thing " and calls a vet for euthanasia. I'm hoping for one that will make house calls, so as to cause the least amount of stress. Please email me if you have any referals. thanks -lh lori_nami Take Mail with you! Guest guest
If you're in Oakland, try Broadway Pet Hospital 4920 Broadway Oakland, CA 94611 510-653-0212 I faced the same situation about 6-9 months ago, and having the vet come to our house made all the difference in the world -- I had just asked our regular vet the day my cat finally stopped eating and he agreed to do it on just a few hours notice (our cat had been receiving treatment for a few months prior and the vet knew our case well). Our longtime friend of 15 years hated, absolutely hated, cars and we were dreading it ourselves, thinking his last hour on this earth would be the terror of a car followed by the terror of a vets office, his #2 fear. Instead, he passed peacefully on our futon, one of his favorite places in the whole world, without even having to get up and move his tired body. Given the circumstances, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
