Guest guest
" it's really too bad that Urban Forage is gone and it serves as a good reminder that we need to make that extra effort to support veg restaurants (where our money doesn't go towards buying meat and there's no chance that we'll eat it accidentally) if we want them around. " i also wanted to echo Yvonne's comment that we support totally veggie restaurants. my preference is to always eat at a vegan (or vegetarian) restaurant where possible. while it's great that there are veg-friendly restaurants out there, they have a wider customer base that will support them than those who will support a strictly vegan or vegetarian establishment. i think it's also worthwhile to support businesses that are veg-owned. this is another way to know that your purchasing dollars aren't funding someone else's purchases of meat. while we have some veg-owned businesses and services listed in the Ultimate Guide, i'd really like to see the section expand. so, please, if you are veg and own a business or provide a service, list yourself in the Ultimate Guide; it's free. or if you know someone who does, tell them how they can get some free advertising. the bav website gets a million hits a month or around 10,000 unique visitors. here's a direct link to the Ultimate Guide to Vegetarian Living in the SF Bay Area. http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug remember, you can create & print your own custom-guide to veg restaurants .. don't leave home without it! cheers, tammy Veg and Animal Rights events, food, fun, and fellowship http://www.BayAreaVeg.org Check out the Ultimate Guide to Vegetarian Living in the San Francisco Bay Area ... veg foods, services, and more! http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug
Guest guest
On that same note, I've been meaning to put a good word in for Mother Nature Vegetarian Cuisine in Albany at 843 San Pablo - all vegan "mostly organic" Chinese restaurant. We were in there last week for dinner, and the place was empty. This is the restaurant that used to be called Ambrosia Garden. The food is really good, comes fast, and the service is very good. They handed us their business cards and urged us to spread the word to help them. They really need the business.
