Guest guest
Farm Sanctuary is launching a campaign against chef Wolfgang Puck for his aggressive promotion of both foie gras and crated veal. As one of America’s most high-profile ‘celebrity’ chefs, Wolfgang Puck has had a huge hand in promoting both foie gras and ‘white’ (crated) veal among American consumers. Activists will converge outside of Puck’s upcoming book-signing event on Saturday, December 18 to voice their concerns over his continued promotion of cruelty. Signs and leaflets will be provided. When: Saturday, December 18, 2004 / 12 noon Where: Wolfgang Puck Express, Macy's Union Square, 170 O'Farrell Street, San Francisco Mr. Puck has ignored the many earnest efforts of humane advocates to educate him about the cruelty behind foie gras and veal and to urge him to stop promoting them. While hundreds of restaurants and chefs across the nation have pledged to stop serving cruel veal and foie gras, Mr. Puck continues to flout the facts and to feature these items on the menus of his eateries, in his popular cookbooks, and on his cable television cooking show. Please join Farm Sanctuary on December 18 in encouraging Mr. Puck to stop promoting veal and foie gras and to join the growing number of chefs, restaurateurs, and other conscientious citizens who eschew these products of egregious animal cruelty
Guest guest
In addition, I noticed that Rainbow Grocery just started selling a line of Wolfgang Puck's organic soups. Folks might want to contact them (http://www.rainbowgrocery.org/) and ask them to stop selling these products until Wolfgang Puck stops using Foie Gras and Veal.
