11/26, SF, Dinner before Fur Free Friday protest

Hi folks,

 

It seems hard to believe that fur is still an issue. More disturbing are

recent news articles that have reported that fur (trim) is a growing

fashion trend now, even here in the Bay Area! So, I hope many of you are

planning to hit the streets and shopping areas on Fur Free Friday. Fur

free Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving) is an annual protest against

fur that happens nationwide. This event is open to anyone who cares for

animals, whether they are vegetarian or not, so please invite all your

animal-loving, compassionate friends to join us.

 

I would like to invite all of you to join me and Chris for dinner and then

we'll go to the SF fur protest afterwards that Carla just posted.

 

Dinner will be at Golden Era, a well-known Vietnamese vegetarian

restaurant in the Tenderloin. More info, see:

Golden Era is within walking distance from Powell Street BART as well as

Neiman Marcus (Union Square) where the fur protest will be happening. We

will order from the menu. If you would like to sit with the group for

dinner, it is important that you RSVP for dinner so I can make sure we get

large enough tables.

 

Here is the plan for Fur Free Friday 11/26:

4:45 - 6:15 pm: Dinner at Golden Era

6:30 - 8:00 pm: Fur Protest at Neiman Marcus

afterwards: Peanut Butter Palooka at MaggieMudd ?? tempting!!

 

If you would like to join the fur protest only, there is no need to RSVP,

just show up.

For the fur protest, I would also suggest to avoid wearing leather or

leather-looking items unless they are clearly marked as synthetic to avoid

any confusion in our message of compassion for animals.

 

Let's share the message that compassion is the fashion!
