Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thanks very much for the ongoing support for Lucky and the Hayward rabbits. As most of you recall, Lucky was taped to explosives and thrown in an East Bay lake before House Rabbit Society (HRS) rescued her and adopted her into a loving home, where she now lives with loving guardians and rabbit playmates. In a separate case, HRS and East Bay Animal Advocates volunteers rescued the Hayward rabbits from truly shocking neglect and abuse. Volunteers found the rabbits languishing in a filthy backyard, where countless other rabbits’ corpses crowded the injured and sick survivors’ living area. HRS has found loving homes or sanctuaries for these rabbits. While these rabbits are enjoying new lives free from torture and torment, we still need your help to make sure that authorities prosecute their abusers to the fullest extent of the law. Please take a couple moments to speak up for these animals right now – your actions will really make a difference in these local cases, and you can help set a standard for how animal abusers are held responsible for their atrocities. ** Sign a petition! Petitions addressed to the Hayward District Attorney supporting their prosecution of both of these cases have been circulating and are doing well. Please forward the following links to everyone you know who would be interested in signing them: www.luckyrabbit.org http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/721866960 www.haywardrabbits.org http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/940099071 ** Write a letter! Faxes to the DA are still needed on behalf of Lucky and the Hayward rabbits. The most effective letters are polite, brief, and to the point, encouraging the maximum allowable sentencing for these two terrible cases of cruelty.
