Guest guest
Folks, This evening my wife, Janice, and I had dinner at Kaleva, 35 Sixth St. (Market & Mission), SF, 348-1381, www.kalevarestaurant.com. All dishes are vegetarian or vegan, Southern or Northern Indian cuisine. The owner and chef, Manish, graciously checked with us a few times throughout the meal to see how we were doing. It was the best South Indian food we've had. At our request, Manish prepared it with a minimum of oil and spice. Since whole grains are not served, Manish generously allowed us to bring our own cooked brown rice. The background music was soft Indian music, which mixed well with the authentic dishes. We'll return soon. Best, Michael Michael R.
