Guest guest
Hi All, Oy Vey...I just read about a japanese restaurant in SF that serves foie gras sushi....anyone up for contacting the owner and demonstrating if need be? I would join in, but I live in Japan!! Info. below. Best, Andrea Here's the info: KABUTO A & S After being closed for about six months, Sachio Kojima has a new location for his nightly sushi performances -- in a smaller space across the street. He bought the building and his family helps out. Kojima, with the help of his sons, creates the best sushi in the city and mixes in his own inventions, such as foie gras sushi. The best way to order is to ask the chef, and then to order one of the sakes from the impressive list. His efforts are rewarded with lines waiting to get into the cramped but cheerful space. Cuisine: Japanese (sushi) Specialities: Special sushi (such as foie gras); toro; kimiyaki (scallops baked in custard); fried and grilled eggplant; sake. Seats: 31 Prices: $2-$10 (for sushi) Noise: Parking: Street, difficult Vitals: 5121 Geary Blvd. (near 15th Ave.), San Francisco; (415) 752-5652. Lunch and dinner Thursday-Tues-day. Beer and wine. No reservations. Credit cards accepted. Check out the new Front Page. www.
Guest guest
I used to live a block from this place (just moved last week), and this place has lines up the block many evenings. Of course, it's being touted as one of the new chic places. My mother really wanted to try it, so I suffered through sitting there, and even she was unimpressed with the artsy miniscule portions, for which they charged very inflated prices. The best they could do for me was a vege broth with buckwheat noodles and tofu - something I make at home for a quick meal. Whoop dee do. I'm not surprised they're using foie gras. They always put a sandwich board on the sidewalk on which they write the day's special menu item, and they're usually very unusual and unexpected food combinations. janice > > Message: 2 > Fri, 5 Nov 2004 22:09:30 -0800 (PST) > a n d r e a <jaigopalkaur > foie gras sushi place > > > Hi All, > > Oy Vey...I just read about a japanese restaurant in SF that serves > foie gras sushi....anyone up for contacting the owner and > demonstrating if need be?
