Guest guest
Erik Marcus, author of Vegan: The New Ethics of Eating and moderator of the website Vegan.com has written a new book - Meat Market. Since writing his first book 6 years ago, Erik has been figuring out the best ways to promote veganism and end factory farming and has developed some great theories that are outlined in Meat Market. This is a terrific book and a quick read (I read the book in one sitting last night). It describes how factory farming evolved and creates a framework for ending factory farming and the most effective ways to present the message to the masses. Limited advanced copies are now available from www.vegan.com. Also, on www.vegan.com is a daily internet radio show called `Erik's Diner' that can be downloaded for free. And, if you want to see Eric Marcus in person, he will be speaking in San Francisco on November 13th at the IOA at 3600 Geary Blvd. This is presented by the San Francisco Vegetarian Society. Potluck starts at 6:00 pm and is $3 if you bring food, $10 if you don't bring food. The lecture begins at 7:30 pm and is free.
