Highway 37 Open After Crash of Big Rig Carrying Chickens

Oct. 18, 2004 (AP) — Both directions of Highway 37 are open again after

a big rig carrying a load of chickens hit was involved in a crash early

this morning. The truck hit the center divider in Vallejo a little after

3:00, scattering chickens across both sides of the highway.

 

For a while, both sides of the highway were closed as work crews cleaned

up dead chickens from the roadway. Other workers were kept busy trying

to recapture chickens who had escaped after the crash. The truckdriver

was not injured. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
