Guest guest
Dear fellow SFBayVeggers, Some of you may already know about our new vegetarian organization on the scene, but I wanted to take the time to introduce our organization to the local vegetarian community. My name is Bradley Saul, and I’m the founder of OrganicAthlete. Our mission is to educate, connect and foster athletes of all ages and abilities to promote healthy, plant-based living in communities, sports and schools. OrganicAthlete wants athletes living a plant-based lifestyle to become the norm. To achieve our dream, OrganicAthlete uses 3 main strategies: information sharing and education, community building and athletic example. Information sharing begins with our comprehensive website and monthly e-zine full of articles and information for people interested in the health and performance benefits of a plant-based diet. OrganicAthlete is currently developing a booklet on vegan health and nutrition for athletes, and we also give seminars to athletic clubs, school groups and community groups. Team OrganicAthlete, our membership program, is a grassroots network of athletes committed to creating a better world through sport. With Team OrganicAthlete vegetarian athletes can meet, train and compete with one another while promoting plant-based lifestyles. OrganicAthlete members receive an array of benefits including a monthly newsletter with training tips, diet information and member news. As the third part of our strategy, OrganicAthlete recruits, trains and supports athlete leaders who promote health and a vegan way of life. OrganicAthlete’s Cycling Team is the world’s only elite vegetarian cycling team. OrganicAthlete also directs a pro-activist team of professional athletes from many different sports who live and support a vegan diet and lifestyle. From winning races to attending community events to an expanding on-line presence, these athletes lead by example of health, compassion and performance. I’ve always felt that as living examples of the optimal power of the human body, unlimited mind and free spirit, athletes can lead a creative revolution of regenerating personal and planetary health and fitness. With such influence, athletes have critical opportunities to inspire others through extraordinary achievements to examine and promote eco-friendly and healthy lifestyles. If you’re interested in our programs, I invite you check out our website, learn more about vegetarian athletes and join Team OrganicAthlete at www.organicathlete.org. We also have an event coming up on October 30th in Santa Rosa. Our Fall Sports Festival and Vegan Potluck is a chance to meet members of OrganicAthlete and get out and enjoy a day of mountain or road biking, trail running, or hiking in beautiful Sonoma County. See our website for more details and email me to RSVP. Have a fruitful day, -Bradley President, OrganicAthlete 500 Ross Lane Sebastopol, CA 95472 707-237-2520 bradley www.organicathlete.org
Guest guest
Hmmmm. You charge money for EVERY level of membership. You don't even offer a basic email newsletter free of charge (please tell your marketing person (Brian) that I think you should offer such a newsletter). Good luck, --Mark (a long-time vegan athlete who doesn't want to part with $20 - $40 at this point in time) P.S.: Your webmaster needs to fix some coding on your web pages. bradley [bradley] Sunday, October 17, 2004 12:27 PM Subject: Connecting Vegetarian Athletes Dear fellow SFBayVeggers, Some of you may already know about our new vegetarian organization on the scene, but I wanted to take the time to introduce our organization to the local vegetarian community.
