Hi folks,Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It is a day that I spend with my veggie friends and it is a day to feast on vegan food and be thankful.Last year we had several volunteers from around the Bay Area host a Thanksgiving celebration. It was a big success and with your help, we'd like to repeat it again. So, if you would like to host a Thanksgiving celebration, it can be on Thanksgiving Day or the weekend prior (your choice), and you can choose tocoordinate the meal for a 'traditional' Thanksgiving feast, or more of a spontaneous 'vegan food party' where folks bring what they like. Or even host a dinner at your favorite veg restaurant! One of the primary goals of BAV is to support and connect the local vegetarian community. We encourage people to host the type of events theywould enjoy, and to invite their local community to join them. Thanksgiving is an opportunity to share a wonderful holiday with new and oldvegetarian friends.Right now we've got a definite host in SF (thanks Kim!), and some inquiries from Oakland and Mill Valley. Would like to get a definite host for East Bay, South Bay, North Bay, and the Peninsula area. The dinner can be VFP-style at your home, or it can even be a restaurant dinner.Of course, I realize that many folks have been going to a lot of the Vegan Food Parties and restaurant dinners we've had over the past few years, and countless friendships have been made and private events are happening. But for those of you who have time and opportunity to host an event, I would encourage you to do so.Bay Area Vegetarians is the sum of *all* of our efforts....Cheers,Tammy & ChrisP.S: A few folks have asked lately whether BAV is our full-time job... nope, we do this entirely on a volunteer, part-time basis; we each havefull-time jobs that we rely on to bring home the tofu and Peanut Butter Palooka :-)
